Little Mukluks Childcare Centre is looking for an Infant/Toddler Educator. As a member of our team, you will help shape and deliver high-quality early years programming grounded in Indigenous knowledge, culture, and language. You’ll collaborate with our team to nurture children’s curiosity and joy through hands-on experiences rooted in place and community. We invite you to help grow the next generation with us– child-first and supporting holistic wellness—spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-create and deliver daily programming guided by AHS Principles and the BC Early Learning Framework
- Implement a child-led, inquiry-based, land-centered approach
- Build warm, reciprocal relationships with children, families, Elders, and peers
- Support children’s diverse developmental needs, including observation and care planning
- Participate in monthly team planning and professional development closures
- Support Indigenous approaches to wellness, education, and intergenerational learning
- Reflect and integrate the six AHS components: culture/language, family involvement, social supports, education, health promotion, and nutrition
What We’re Looking For
- ECE Certificate and/or Infant/Toddler Certification (recognized by the BC ECE Registry)
- Valid First Aid
- Passion for outdoor, land-based learning and a deep respect for Indigenous knowledge systems
- Receptivity to Aboriginal Head Start’s six components and philosophy
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in working with families, Elders, and diverse Indigenous communities
Compensation & Benefits
- $26.50–27.00/hr. base wage + $6/hr ECE wage enhancement (total: $32.50–33.00/hr)
