AHS Chefs: Salmon Patties

Join in for a virtual cook-along, where Chef Cherina (Munu AHS) and Elder Linda will show us how to make salmon patties. Gather the ingredients below to follow along.

Prep Time: 10 min

Cook Time: 5-6 min

Makes: 4-6 patties (depending on size)


  • 1 (14oz) can salmon

  • ¼ cup finely chopped white onion

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup fine breadcrumbs

  • Salt & pepper

  • Olive oil (for pan-frying)


  1. Drain liquid from salmon into a cup.

  2. Mix together salmon, egg, onion, bread crumbs, and spices.

  3. Form into patties. If mixture is too dry, add a little bit of the reserved salmon liquid or a spoonful of mayonnaise.

  4. Pan fry in olive oil for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  5. Place patties on paper towel to remove excess oil.

  6. Serve with rice, potatoes, and/or green salad.


  • Replace breadcrumbs with crushed crackers

  • Add lemon pepper, minced garlic, and/or Dijon mustard

  • Add finely chopped celery or red pepper

  • Top with sour cream or Greek yogurt
