ECE Updates

Here is an update on Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) courses being offered online at Vancouver Island University with a choice between attending a zoom seminar or viewing the recorded lecture. (Some courses may have a couple of required attendance days – students will be informed well in advance.)

Courses with no pre-requisites, other than being a VIU student:

ECEC 130 Principles and Practices of Wellness June 14-Aug 6

ECEC 120 Guiding Children’s Behaviour June 21-Aug 6

ECEC 100 Roots and Trends of Early Childhood Education May 3-August 6

Courses with some pre-requisites:

ECEC 111 Child Development 2 June 21-Aug 6 pre-requisite Child Development 1 or permission from instructor

ECEC 171 Program Planning: Creative Expression April 26-June 4 pre-requisite ECEC 170 or permission from instructor

ECEC 172 Program Planning: Discovering our World April 26-May 28 pre-requisite ECEC 171 or permission from instructor
