Hiiye’yu Lelum AHS is hosted by Hiiye’yu Lelum House of Friendship in Quwutsun territory, Duncan.
Our program is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming and loving space full of culture and care to the families in our program. We believe in providing a blanket of support,, including Infant Development, an on-site cook for traditional foods, and caring, highly qualified staff.
Our families are all First Nations. We support their connections with many other community service providers and within the school system as they prepare for kindergarten.
Culture is shared through songs, resources, and Hul’q’umi’num language woven into as many aspects we can. Elders and Cultural Teachers visit to provide Language and support with cultural calendar.
We enjoy close community partnerships with the school board due to the location, on-site Infant Development part of the staff, and a wonderful new Indigenous chef creating traditional meals for children and family.
Our parents are always welcome and are engaged and friendly with the program staff.
