The Aboriginal Head Start Program at Kermode Friendship Society is on Ts’msyen territory, in Terrace. Our program runs from September to June of each year.
Our primary focus is to provide services for the children and their families to support Early Childhood Development and instill pride in their heritage, while bringing them to the school readiness stage to help ensure an easy transition into kindergarten. We believe that Parents are their child’s primary teachers and strongly encourage them to be a part of our program.
Along with our Staff, we have a Family Involvement Worker. We have a good working relationship with other community programs such as the CAPC parenting program, Early Childhood Development program and the Child Development Centre, our licensing office including the nutritionist and environmental health office, and the School District.
We do have a waitlist for our program and we except registration forms throughout the year, therefore we encourage parents to register their child as early as possible. Call for more information or to apply for enrolment.
