AHSABC is committed to supporting educators in the delivery of high quality early years programming for Indigenous children and their families. Culture and language are the heart of AHS programs and integral to a holistic, intergenerational model of lifelong health.
We invite you to explore the tools we have created to support quality program delivery and use them in your own practice to best meet the needs of children and families in your community.
Connecting children to the land grows relationships in ways that honour the land, air and water– validating children’s past, present and future.
This 4 part video series grew out of a series of workshops for AHS early childhood educators. The four short films reflect the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of connecting to the land.
The workshops series were led by AHSABC training coordinator Yvette Bolduc, featuring facilitators Enid Elliott, Sheila Grieve and Qwul’stun’a’wat, Danielle Alphonse.
The workshops encouraged programs to connect with the land, increase outdoor time for well grounded, happy, healthy children. In monthly sessions, we shared cultural teachings and stories on the land and mentored educators.
AHS Policy and Procedures Guide
The AHSABC Policies & Procedures Guide was created to support programs in creating their own Policies & Procedures Manual – that meet the unique needs of their centre.
